Rewiring 220 volt "dryer" cord. Hello everyone,
I hope this is a relatively simply request. I purchased a used electric log fireplace insert that has a 3-prong 220 volt cord--the only equivalent I could find is a common clothes dryer cord. I would like to re-wire the cord and convert it to a standard extension cord that can plug into a standard home outlet (I believe 110 volts). I recognize that the power will be limited, but that's ok with me...it will only serve as ambient heat (at best). Can anyone walk me through the weldingweb.com
